Bharani nakshatra
Bharani is the second nakshatra, from 13°20' to 26°40' of Mesha (Aries), ruled by Venus, and the tradition gives it to Yama, the keeper of limits.
It is a faint triangle of three stars in the Ram, hard to pick out from a city and easy from a dark field. Its position immediately after Ashwini puts it early in the zodiac, so the Moon passes through it near the start of every sidereal circuit.
The symbol is the yoni, and the tradition uses it for the whole passage of bearing and delivering: what is carried, what it costs to carry, and what has to be given up when the thing arrives. Yama as deity is not a threat here but the principle of limit, the fact that things end and that endings are what make room. The gana is Manushya (human) and the classical class is Ugra, meaning fierce.
The honest frame is capacity. Bharani is the tradition's picture of holding something demanding all the way through, and it is described as costly rather than as pleasant. If you are carrying something at the moment, this is a Moon that names the effort rather than one that adds to it.
