Today's tithi is Dashami, in the Krishna paksha, the waning half of the lunar month. The Moon moves through Purva Phalguni nakshatra, pada 1. The vara is Budhavara, and the panchang's remaining limbs are Brahma yoga and Vishti karana.

Purva Phalguni nakshatra

Purva Phalguni is the eleventh nakshatra, from 13°20' to 26°40' of Simha (Leo), ruled by Venus, and its symbol is the front legs of a bed.

The stars are the pair marking the Lion's hindquarters, straightforward to find once you have located Regulus. The nakshatra is the first half of a pair, with Uttara Phalguni forming the second, and the two are read together in the classical scheme as the head and foot of the same piece of furniture.

The deity is Bhaga, whose name means the share or the portion, the god of the good things that are actually distributed to people. The gana is Manushya (human) and the activity class is Ugra, fierce, which sits oddly with the imagery until you notice that the tradition is describing appetite rather than gentleness.

What it points at is rest, pleasure and the enjoyment of what has already been earned. That is a real category and one that tends to be postponed indefinitely. Choosing to take a share of it is a decision the tradition treats as legitimate rather than indulgent.
