Vishakha nakshatra
Vishakha is the sixteenth nakshatra, from 20°00' of Tula (Libra) to 3°20' of Vrishchika (Scorpio), ruled by Jupiter, and its name means the forked or the branched.
The stars are the pair that once formed the claws of the Scorpion and are now counted as the scales of Libra, sitting right on the boundary the nakshatra straddles. The symbol is usually given as an archway or a decorated gate, something you pass through on purpose.
The deities are Indra and Agni together, which is unusual: two powers rather than one, which suits a nakshatra whose name is about branching. The gana is Rakshasa, meaning intense rather than wicked, and the classical activity class is Mishra, mixed. The traditional theme is a goal pursued with everything you have, and the fork in the road that decides which goal it will be.
That makes it the tradition's nakshatra of concentrated ambition, with the honest addition that concentration on one branch means not taking the other. Naming the cost is what makes the choice a real one.
