Today's tithi is Trayodashi, in the Shukla paksha, the waxing half of the lunar month. The Moon moves through Mula nakshatra, pada 1. The vara is Shukravara, and the panchang's remaining limbs are Brahma yoga and Taitila karana.

What is Brahma yoga?

Brahma is the twenty fifth of the 27 nithya yogas, named for the creator, and the tradition connects it with origination and with the framing of new things.

The classical associations are with beginnings that require thought before action: designing, planning, founding, and any undertaking where the shape of the thing has to be settled before the work starts. It is one of the yogas the handbooks describe most favourably for that kind of start.

Yogas cover 13°20' each of the combined longitudes, and since that sum advances by roughly fourteen degrees a day, one yoga runs a little under a full day. The result is that the yoga cycle drifts steadily earlier against the clock, and the whole set of twenty seven turns over slightly faster than a lunar month.

As a reading it invites the question of what you would build rather than what you would fix. Those are different modes and most weeks contain only the second, which is a decent argument for using a day that suits the first.
