Today's tithi is Navami, in the Shukla paksha, the waxing half of the lunar month. The Moon moves through Uttara Phalguni nakshatra, pada 3. The vara is Shanivara, and the panchang's remaining limbs are Siddhi yoga and Balava karana.

Navami in Shukla paksha

Shukla Navami is the ninth tithi of the bright fortnight, from 96 to 108 degrees of separation, and it is a Rikta tithi that the tradition nonetheless connects with Durga and with strength held under pressure.

The Moon has passed its first quarter and is visibly gibbous, up from mid afternoon and setting well after midnight. The waxing has stopped feeling gradual; from here to Purnima the change from night to night is obvious even to someone not watching for it.

Rikta means empty, and the fourth, ninth and fourteenth carry that grouping. The classical handbooks keep Rikta tithis for clearing rather than launching. What sits alongside that here is the tithi's deity, and two of the most attended observances of the year fall on a Shukla Navami: the one in Chaitra and the one that closes the nine nights in Ashwina.

Both readings can be true at once without contradiction. An empty day is a day with room in it, and the tradition put its images of endurance exactly there. If something has been demanding more of you than you expected, this is the classical slot for facing it rather than adding to it.
