Today's tithi is Pratipada, in the Shukla paksha, the waxing half of the lunar month. The Moon moves through Revati nakshatra, pada 2. The vara is Budhavara, and the panchang's remaining limbs are Indra yoga and Kimstughna karana.
Revati is the twenty seventh and last nakshatra, from 16°40' to 30°00' of Meena (Pisces), ruled by Mercury, and it closes the circle at the point where the count begins again.
Its stars are the faint stream of Pisces, ending near zeta Piscium, which sits close to where the sidereal zodiac completes its round. The symbol is a fish or a drum, and the deity is Pushan, the guardian of roads and of animals, the one who sees travellers safely to the end of a journey.
The gana is Deva (divine) and the classical activity class is Mridu, soft. Everything about the nakshatra is about arrival: the last stage, the safe return, the handing over of what was carried. Revati also ends in a gandanta, the junction between the last nakshatra and Ashwini, and the tradition asks for care in its final degrees for exactly that reason.
As a reading it suits completion and farewell rather than launch. Finishing well is a skill of its own, and it includes letting the thing go once it is done, which is usually the harder half.
